Karlsruhe virtual catalogue - searching for literature

You can research in the KVC at any time without the need to register. Should you use the catalogue regularly, you can save preferred selection criteria under "settings".

For research, there are various fields for the entry of search terms. The number of results you receive depends on the number and exactness of your search terms.

Note: The catalogue is subject to the logic of the individual databases. It is possible for you to achieve various results with different search terms in a variety of databases.

As a standard, the system searches in all catalogues which you have selected.

Tip: Limit your search to certain databases (for example first search only in German, second searche only in foreign catalogues). This reduces the time for an answer and looks after the system resources of the target systems.

You receive the results in short title lists. You can access full title notifications of the individual systems by means of links. From there, you can order the requested books directly. You can also have remote lending orders carried out by your library.

Tip: Registered users of the KIT library can order the requested media directly via the KVC remote lending.

The KVC is a meta search machine and only displays the results which were delivered by target catalogues. The KVC does not save any data concerning users, books, magazines or other media. The operators of the KVC cannot therefore answer any requests concerning changes to book titles or similar. Such questions must always be directed to the operators of the target catalogues.
