Apply for parking concessions for special groups of severely disabled people ("orange parking permit")
In addition to the "blue parking permit", the "orange parking permit" is another parking facilitation for special groups of severely disabled people. It is valid throughout Germany.
If you have an "orange-coloured parking permit", you have folfollowing authorisations if there is no other parking facility within a reasonable distance:
- Parking for up to three hours in places where the parking licence is validerestricted stopping ban is in place.
The arrival time must be shown on a parking disc - Exceeding the authorised parking time in the area eiof a no-parking zone
- Parking beyond the authorised time in places whereeparking is permitted but an additional sign has been placedea parking time limit is imposed by an additional sign
- Parking during loading times in pedestrian areas where loading and unloading is authorised for certain timeseis authorised
- Parking for up to three hours in car parks for residents and residents. The arrival time must be indicated on a parking disc
- Parking without charge and time limit in car parkshand parking ticket machines

The maximum permitted parking time of 24 hours must not be exceeded.
Please note: You are not allowed to park in car parks with the wheelchair symbol if you have an "orange parking permit".Parking permits("blue parking permit") for these car parksare only issued to

- an exceptional walking disability (§ 229 Para. 3 SGB IX),
- bilateral amelia or phocomelia or verequivalent functional restrictions and
- blind people.

The application can be submitted to any road traffic authority.
The road traffic authority is
- the district office
- in urban districts or large district cities, the respective city administration
- if applicable, the local road traffic authority

Prerequisite
You can obtain the "orange-coloured parking permit" if one of these cases applies to you:
- You are severely disabled with the G and B signs and a GdB of at least 70 for functional disorders of the lower limbs alone (and the lumbar spine, insofar as these affect the ability to walk) and at the same time a GdB of at least 50 for functional disorders of the heart or respiratory organs.
- You suffer from Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis and the GdB determined for this is at least 60.
- You have an artificial anus and at the same time an artificial urinary diversion and the GdB determined for this is at least 70.
- You are severely disabled and, as determined by a pension doctor, are to be treated in the same way as the aforementioned group of people.
Please note: The decisive factor is the individual GdB for the respective functional impairment and not the total GdB resulting from the sum of individual functional impairments.
Procedure
You must apply for the "orange-coloured parking permit" in writing to the road traffic authority. You can obtain the form there. Depending on the services offered by your local road traffic authority, you can also download it from the Internet.
The road traffic authority will forward your application to the internalüto the pension administration. There, the medical service will check whether you fulfil the eligibility requirements. The decision is based on the severely disabled person'skand the findings and assessments contained therein.
If you fulfil the requirements, you will usually receive the "orange-coloured parking permit" for five years. After that, you can apply for an extension.
If your application is rejected, you can appeal to the road traffic authorityetraffic authority against the decision.
